Tonia is Executive Director of the Edelman Trust Barometer at the Edelman Trust Institute, Edelman’s center for the study of trust. For nearly ten years, she has led the team that produces the Trust Barometer, the world’s largest global survey and foremost authority on trust in institutions and brands.
Now in its 24th year, the annual global Trust Barometer surveys more than 32,000 people in 28 countries to understand the influence of trust across society to shape conversation, drive results, and earn action.
Under Tonia’s leadership, the Trust Barometer has expanded from an annual global study to become a year-round series of reports and publications that examine trust across stakeholders and explore the expectations for business and other societal leaders across issues such as employee activism, climate change, and the evolving information ecosystem. Its reports, findings, and insights are widely cited in media outlets, informs academic research, and provides insights to thought-leaders and opinion-shapers around the world.
