On April 20, 2023, First Lieutenant Daniel J. Edelman was Posthumously inducted as a Distinguished Member of the Psychological Operations Regiment at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, N.C. Members who hold such honor are individuals who have served as role models for this generation's Special Operations Forces soldiers. “As public examples, they enhance unit morale, cohesion, and Esprit-de-Corps, while promoting the warfighting ethos.”
“Daniel Edelman’s service to our Nation during the time of war proved invaluable to not only his comrades in arms but also formed a critical and credible basis for not only the military profession of Psychological Operations but also set the foundation for Public Relations professionals worldwide,” said COL (R) Curtis D. Boyd in his recommendation letter, dated February 28, 2022.
Dan Edelman said of his time in the service: “I must tell you it was one of the great breaks in my life that I was able to serve as a Private in the U.S. Army.”
