2024 Key Findings
 

Executives’ concerns over the pandemic have given way to worries over global elections and societal issues.

Nearly 2 in 3 executives say their business is unprepared to respond to social equity & inclusion conversations or geopolitical issues.

The rise of artificial intelligence is the #1 concern for business leaders moving forward.

This concern, driven by an awareness of its ability to cause reputational harm, is also the fastest-growing area of concern for the general public year-on-year.

The different ways threats can emerge and the speed of attack are primary concerns.

8 in 10 executives worry about the negative impact AI-driven misinformation and disinformation can have on a range of different aspects of their business.

Informed opinion is the most concerned.

Level of worry around the impact of AI on businesses rises the more familiar executives are with its capabilities and future potential.

But businesses aren’t ready.

78% of business executives recognize AI presents a step-change in how their company needs to prepare and adapt to crises. In addition, less than 1 in 2 are prepared to anticipate, identify and manage these threats.
